One of the best things about Ibiza are the many stunning open water swims we can do.

We offer private open water swim training and private accompanied open water swims in the beautiful turquoise waters of the Mediterranean sea.  Whether you are new to the joys of open water swimming, would like to improve your confidence and experience in open water (it’s very different to swimming in a pool) or are looking to train it would be a pleasure to share our favourite swims with you.

The Med provides a pretty safe open water swim environment.  Things we have to be aware of are the few places there are strong currents (we avoid them), sometimes jellyfish (if the situation is really bad we will either re-schedule or refund the swim) and, sadly, boating traffic (be warned we’ll make you wear a bright coloured swim hat and take a swim buoy for visibility!!).  We plan all our open water swims with safety considerations as top priority.

For all open water swims you need to be able to swim a minimum of 1000m (40 lengths of a 25m pool) continuously in order to come out with us.

Throughout June 2022 Ruth will be doing a scheduled group open water swim session on Saturday mornings at some of her favourite swims on the island.  You’ll be sent the meet point for the swim the day before (where we swim is dependent on conditions on the day) and the swim will start at 7.30am.

  • Maximum water time – 1 hour
  • Maximum group size – 4
  • Cost is €40 with payment in advance to confirm place
  • Cancellations of less than 36 hours and no-shows are charged
  • You will need a swim buoy and your regular swim stuff
  • Technique pointers can be given, if desired

Please email hola@ibizaswim.com for further details or to book.
