Gabriele Martena swimming instructor Ibiza Swim

Gabriele joined the Ibiza Swim team in 2015 bringing with him over fifteen years experience in the fitness and leisure industry and a good dose of Italian warmth, passion and fun.  He is an Italian swim federation qualified swim instructor and a UK YMCA qualified personal trainer.  Over the years he has worked in leisure centres and private health clubs in Italy, Switzerland and London, his love of the sunshine and sea bringing him to Ibiza.

Gabriele loves to be in the water but it wasn’t always that way.  When he started swimming lessons at age four he was a little scared and didn’t even want to put his feet in the water!  After his initial fear he soon grew to love the water and from ages six to sixteen he swam for his local swim club.  He started to teaching swimming in 1999 and over the years has held positions both taught and coached swimming working with children at all levels from beginners to competitive swimmers and of all ages ranges.

A true people person Gabriele is a highly motivational teacher and trainer, he really enjoys seeing improvements.  Goal orientated (he was a professional footballer in his home town of Milano from ages 16-22) he loves working with and seeing his clients achieve their goals.  His passion for the water and for fitness is infectious!!
